Hello everyone,
This is just a little update from me from the time I was in Cambodia, because right now I am in Pattaya, Thailand!
On the 5th of January we arrived in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Here we stayed just only for one week. But it was amazing to be here.
The first day was pretty intense tough, because we did a cultural orientation (this is something we do every new location, to get to know the culture etc.) We went to two places were we saw a lot about their history in the 70s and this was really hard to see. We went to the killer fields and to the prison. Here we saw and heard an intense story about the genocide that happened in 1975 not so long ago! Were a lot of innocent people died.
There is this big group of young people under 30 years old. And that is 80% of the population! So whenever you see older people, you know they have a story to tell.
It is an intense story to tell, but it is definitely something you should know when visiting Cambodia. It will help you understand their culture and were they are coming from. It was encouraging to see some survivors who visit the prison; the place were they were tortured, to tell their story.
So this is just one thing we did. We we often went downtown and here we talked to local people or tourists to hear their stories.
We also met up with a team from Germany. And we did some worship together.
I have been in Pattaya; Thailand for one week now and I am going to tell you more about it very soon!
Side note: In less than four weeks I will be home again! Isn't that crazy! Time flies so fast and the days are feeling like seconds!!
I can't wait to see you all very soon, but I am also sad to leave this amazing new family I have through this. But at least now I can visit anlot of countries by visiting them, hahah ;)

Hi die Lins,
Wat fijn weer te lezen van jouw ervaringen in Cambodja t...het zal wel heel indrukwekkend zijn geweest. Goh ja, je bent alweer terug in Thailand.. bijzonder weer om te lezen welke culturen je allemaal van dichtbij hebt mogen leren kennen. Wat zul je toch veel te vertellen hebben...
Het duurt niet lang meer dat we elkaar weer mogen zien! Maar tot dan geniet ervan! God bless you and all the ones you are with! Give our greetings to Sarah and Megan and everyone I have spoken with!

Wat fijn weer eens van je te lezen :-) wat vliegt de tijd inderdaad en ik kan goed begrijpen dat het een heel gemis is wanneer je groep weer terug naar huis zal gaan.
